Still Rollin’ in Tennesee: Titans 20, Falcons 13

Sometimes a good team will play a game they should lose at home to a lesser opponent. The very good teams find a way on those occasions to come out on top. On this day, the Tennesee Titans put forth far from their best effort after a bye week, but it was still enough to slide past the Atlanta Falcons and improve to 3-1. The Titans are now 9-2 with Vince Young as their starting QB.
The Falcons were not without their chances to tie this game. The Falcons botched a first-down pitch from Byron Leftwich to Warrick Dunn at the Titans 1-yard-line. The fumble took Atlanta back to the 9, where Leftwich threw two straight incompletions and was sacked on fourth down, sealing Tennessee’s 20-13 win.
The Titans turned the ball over 5 times today. Three of those turnovers were Vince Young interceptions. There was nothing about this game that was statistically pretty. The mark of this Titans team is to hit teams in the mouth and win with physical, ugly play. This also happened to be the game in which I picked for my survivor pool, and for the 5th week in a row, I was successful–and the Colts are still on the board for me as well as the Packers.
